Blessing Service

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Last night was very special for our family as we had our blessing service at Vision Baptist Church.

This church has invested alot into our family, from teaching to financial investments, Vision has been there to help move us forward in the ministry. The entire service was very well planned and will leave a lasting memory in our hearts.

We want to say thank you to this wonderful church and their Pastor, Austin Gardner.

We also want to thank all of our family that came down for this special service. It was well over an hour drive. We have a very good family to be thankful for.

We also would like to thank our home church, Whitfield Baptist Church for all of their help over the years. We just ministered there last weekend and they were also very good to us. We love our pastor and church family. Thank you!

Pastors Conference 2010

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

We had a phenominal time at New Life Baptist Church in Dalton, GA as we took part in the first annual Pastors Conference.

This local body of believers did a tremendous job of working together to put on a first class conference that will have fruit to show for it in the days ahead.

There were multiple pastors and key people there that will go back to their churches focused on the main thing. There is no telling what will be done for world-evangelism as a result of this conference.

God gave the vision, and opportunity and Pastor Spence and New Life took advantage of what God put in front of them, now they are trusting God for great fruit to come from this meeting.

It was truly a great meeting where Missionary Tony Howeth, and Dr. Clayton Shumphert delivered outstanding messages.

Thank you to everyone who took part. It was a great blessing. Looking forward to hearing of how God uses this pivotal meeting next year!

Sunday

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

We had a great services on Sunday. In the morning we were in around Johnson City, TN. Then in the evening we were in the mountains as we visited Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Thank you Pastor Moore for the great hospitality, love offering, and faithful support you all have given us over the years!

Jail Time

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Last night it was Whitfield Baptist Church’s night to go and minister at the county jail. I was given a last minute invited so I headed down to see how a jail ministry works.

I have to say that I had a great time. I love to preach to others what has helped me in my own life. This is a great place to be able to do this. It is a room full of men in crisis. They are at a fork in their lives and no doubt their families are praying that God would send someone to help them by the Word of truth.

It was shocking as I went in to the different pods. I ran into about six men that I knew, three of which I went to school with. They are regular people, even proclaiming to be Christians, but Christ is not in charge in their lives. Pray for these men in particular as I am suppose to meet with two of them upon their release. I don’t want to give their names for privacy sake.

After seeing what I saw last night, and knowing that someone very close to me was in a place like this for a while, I would have been thrilled to know that their were churches and preachers trying to help this person with the truth.

How are the jails in your community? Is anyone reaching them? Why not try to get into them and give those men and women hope?

Hilton Head

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

We just got back from Hilton Head, South Carolina. We were with a faithful supporting church pastored by Pastor Chuck Rice. He is a very humble and genuine man of God.

It was great to get by there and see some old faces. This is a tremendous church. If you are ever in this area it would be a great church to visit.

Thank you Victory Baptist Church for your labour of love toward our family.

South Carolina

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Today we are on our way to South Carolina. We will be with Pastor Blackwell at Westside Baptist Church. I hope that we will be able to be an encouragement to his people for the cause of world evangelism.

“Thunderfoot”

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Last night we were at Drakestown Baptist Church, Temple, GA. We had a great time with Pastor Doug Weaver. He gave us plenty of time to tell the people about our ministry and after the service we had some food and fellowship.

During the fellowship I found out that Pastor Weaver is the older brother of Herman “Thunderfoot” Weaver, former NFL standout. Some of you may remember his playing days. He is now a Christian speaker through Thunderfoot ministries.

Here is his BIO:

Herman “Thunderfoot” Weaver was a punter with an 11 year career in the National Football League from 1970 through 1980. Herman spent 7 years punting for the Detroit Lions and 4 years with the Seattle Seahawks. During his career, Herman punted 693 times for 27,897 total yards. In 1975, Herman was named the NFC Punter of the Year and in 1988 the Sporting News called Herman “One of the Top 20 Punters of All Time”. During his storied career, Herman was teammates with some of the games greats; players like Greg Landry, Lem Barney, Charlie Sanders, Alex Karras, Jim Zorn and Steve Largent. Herman still holds the dubious all-time NFL record for the most punts blocked in a career at 14 (you’ve got to be known for something).
