How it Went…

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

We were a small group today but God forget to count (lol) and did a great work in the hearts of the people anyway. We were in the thirties in both services. I preached on the power of the tongue tonight and gave the people several ways they can use their tongue to bring life. Think for a moment of the power that such a small part of the body contains. Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and Life are in the power of the tongue.” Think of men of the past, who by just their words caused havoc on the earth. Take for instance Hitler, who by his tongue caused men to believe and act on their beliefs which led to the death of an estimated 6 million Jews. Death is in the power of the tongue. Then on the other hand there are men like Peter for instance who preached, using his tongue, and five thousand received eternal life. Life is in the power of the tongue. Even though I still really struggle with Xhosa God seemed to get His message across and an added blessing was that Luyanda, a twenty year old young man made a profession of faith. All praise goes to God!

Lubabalo leading singing at Madiba Bay

Well, Lubabalo has headed off to East London.  He actually left yesterday and has preached once already and will preach again tommorrow.  I know He would appreciate all of your prayers.

Pastor Michael Lovett invited him up to preach at his youth meeting on Friday night and then in the children’s sunday school Sunday morning.  They have several Xhosa people in their church in East London.  I talked to him (Lubabalo) today and he seemed to be having a blast and from the sound of it, it seems as if he sees a great need for the gospel in East London.

Pray for us Mzikayise will be leading the singing tommorrow and he is a bit nervous - first time jitters.  I am sure he will do a great job but still we ask you to pray for us that God would help us to minister in an effective way to the hearts of all the people at Madiba Bay.  I struggled to preach Wednesday so I am really anxious to get back in church and allow God to use His word through me.  We will let you know how it turns out.

God is Faithful to us Christians!!!Parent's Day at Madiba Bay

Wow, we are seeing God do what He always does and that is be faithful.  I have been praying and asking God to show our people that God does answer prayer in a real way.  There are many “ministers” ministering in the name of God and dragging it through the mud.  They promise riches, and prosperity and give false hope to desperate people.

At Madiba Bay God is answering His people’s prayers faithfully.  We are seeing God’s hand at work and there is no, absolutely no denying it.  After preaching a message out of Joshua chapter 4 where God told Joshua to take out twelve stones out of the Jordan River and place them in such a fashion that in days and years to come when their children asked “what mean these stones?”, Joshua and the children of Israel could tell them of how God worked and did a great miracle for them.   I believe God did this among other reasons, so that He could time and again receive glory for this great victory.

We have begun a stone wall at Madiba Bay.  The stones are made of paper but on the back we place the answer we received in prayer so that in days to come we repeatedly thank the God of Heaven for answering our prayers.

God answered another one this past Sunday.  We were praying for 75 people to attend our parent’s day celebration.  God gave us 87 precious souls.  On top of that 6 grown women accepted Christ as their personal saviour.  That is another one for the wall!!!
