3 Professions of Faith

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

God is faithful to use our banded brothers and sisters to see souls saved here in P.E. We had tremendous services today. God moved and an older lady trusted Christ in the morning service and to younger girls in the evening services. This coming Sunday will be having a Baptismal Sunday and should be baptizing five people! We praise God for all He is doing. We have made a dent in our goals for the year and hold high expectations for the coming months.

Please pray for a man named Mbulelo Sitole. He recently made a profession but has messed up and has found himself beaten up and in jail. Satan has a definate stronghold on the Xhosa people we ask you to please keep them in your prayers. They are beautiful people and I want to see as many as possible in Heaven one day.

No Power…No World Cup

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

I believe the gov is starting to stress a little now. They are on the brink of looking very foolish. We are experiencing power outages all over the country and they are happening closer and closer together. This is a problem for us, as people who live here, but this problem has no quick fix and South Africa is scheduled to hold the 2010 World Cup which will be redirected elsewhere if there is not a definate solution in place.
Our President Thabo Mbeki has recently admitted to the government’s failure to act swiftly after first realizing the coming problem. But before that this problem originally stems from the Apartheid regime. I am not trying to open that can of worms up again but the fact is the power supply in this country was set up for a small white community made up of less than ten million people, not the other approximately forty million people. Knowing that, it is very easy to see how we are constantly over using electricity in this country. In comparison, is it not a beautiful thing that when God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost designed a plan to save human souls from eternal destruction they didn’t do so with only certain races in mind. No, God made preparations and a way for all men to be saved. The Bible says that He is not willing that any should perish! We cannot overstress God’s salvation. We will never have to run adverts or plea with people to not preach the Gospel too much. Heaven is big enough for everyone and Christ’s blood is enough to wash away every man’s sin.

2008 Men’s Retreat

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Just back from our 2008 Men’s Retreat and I have to say that it has been our best ever. But apart from it being our first men’s retreat we really had a blast and had some sweet meetings around God’s Word. We feasted on God’s Word five times in the short day and a half that we were at the Landela Christian Campground. God has given us some great men. We seemed to come together as a family during this short time. Please pray for these men. The temptation they face is unbelievable and access to it is effortless.

God moved in hearts as we discussed different Psalms of the Bible. In particularly we studied about the blessed man in the very first Psalm. A phrase that has been worn out in this world is the “blessings of God.” The blessings of God have been promised all over the world to people outside the context in which God promises them. It was encouraging to read through this Psalm, the Word of God, about the blessed man.

A few things I would like to throw in for free in the end is that we had great services today. Our people are coming back into town from holiday and they are getting excited about the goals that we have set for the church this coming year. It is going to be a wild ride and I can’t wait to write about it. Another thing is that I ask you to pray that God would give us a camp like the one we visited. There is a great need in this country for a strong, strong ministry to the Black community. As far as I know there is not a thriving ministry to population which represents high majority. So my point is that we need every aspect of ministry we can get our hands on. This would be a great tool for building our churches and especially our young people.
My prayer is that God would provide us with a place like this in the coming days of our ministry here in SA.
