Right when you need it…
Isn’t God’s timing just amazing. It is not one second early and couldn’t have waited one second more. Tonight on my way home I was doing on of my wierd habits that I do ever so often, and that is I was preaching aloud in my vehicle to myself in Xhosa. As I was preaching I would get frustrated at times because I would get stuck or just stutter. I want to have complete freedom in Xhosa to preach whatever, whenever, and however. It is a huge temptation to just tell yourself these people know English and go with it, which is true to some respect, but as I was here reading a missionary’s prayer letter, Michael Carter in Mongolia God gave me a little shot to the gut as I read a quote in this man’s letter. It was a quote from Nelson Mandela, a Xhosa man, more notably the first black president of South Africa, and a Noble Peace Prize winner. He said, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his
head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”
All this means is that there is more work to do.
